Ratio Decidendi

The court found that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against the accused persons. This means that the evidence, if unchallenged, would be sufficient to justify a conviction. As a result, the accused are required to be placed on their defence in accordance with Section 211 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court thus directed that the defence hearing be scheduled, having complied with the procedural requirements for informing the accused of their rights at this stage.
