The tribunal's powers are limited to disputes concerning division, boundaries, occupation, or trespass, and do not extend to determining ownership or ordering cancellation of registered titles. The magistrate's adoption of the tribunal's decision was similarly ultra vires. As such, the tribunal's decision and its adoption by the magistrate were nullities and were quashed by way of certiorari.
