Accused having been found guilty in absentia of the offence of Manslaughter, he will not benefit from the element of mitigation. However, the court has been informed that he is a first offender. Nevertheless, life was lost through careless use of firearm. A deterrent sentence is necessary. Accordingly, Accused is sentenced to serve 15 years imprisonment upon his arrest.
