Although the plaintiff claimed to have occupied the land since 1998, any occupation prior to registration was during the adjudication process and did not count towards adverse possession. The court found that the defendant's filing of Chuka PMCC No. 5 of 2015 against the plaintiff for eviction, approximately seven years after registration, constituted an interruption of the plaintiff's occupation, thereby stopping the running of time for adverse possession.
