The court held that a stay of proceedings is a serious remedy to be granted only in exceptional circumstances, and the existence of a pending reference on costs did not justify staying the current proceedings. On the contempt application, the court held that the Plaintiff failed to prove, to the requisite standard, that the 1st Defendant was in contempt of the status quo order.
