The respondent failed to participate in the hearing and did not provide sufficient proof that his guarantors had settled the outstanding amounts or that his shares and dividends fully discharged the debt. The tribunal relied on the claimant's statements of account, which showed a loan balance of Kshs. 1,522,251.90 as at 21 February 2022. The respondent's assertions were unsupported by evidence.
