On liability, the court held that although the motorcycle rider was carrying excess passengers, there was no evidence that this contributed to the accident. The appellant's actions were the proximate cause of the accident, and the trial court did not err in apportioning liability wholly to the appellant. Regarding damages, the court applied the principle that appellate courts should not interfere with awards unless they are manifestly excessive or based on wrong principles.
