Performance of executive functions during absence of President (1) If the President leaves Zambia or is absent from office, the Vice-President shall perform the executive functions specified, in writing, by the President until the President returns to office or revokes the authority. (2) Where the Vice-President is incapable of performing the executive functions, as specified under clause (1), the President shall appoint a member of the Cabinet to perform the executive functions until the— (a) Vice-President is able to perform those functions; (b) President returns to office; or (c) President revokes the authority.
