About this statute

Chapter 1: General provisions. Kyrkan bekänner sig till den kristna tron och ska pröva all lära i kyrkan enligt Guds heliga ord. The pastor decides church membership applications, and if the pastor does not approve an application, the matter must be sent to the church council or parish council for a decision. Church members have rights to participate in worship and parish activities, and they also have duties to attend services and live and act in specified Christian ways. The provision sets when certain church holidays are observed, with two specific exceptions for Midsummer Day and All Saints’ Day.
