R v Lee Michael Calvert

The Court found the retraction statement by RC to be unreliable due to inconsistencies between contemporaneous notes and the statement, the circumstances of its production, and RC's own disavowal of its contents. The Court concluded that the safety of the conviction is not undermined and it is not necessary in the interests of justice to admit the fresh evidence. The appeal is dismissed.
