The Court held that the judge lawfully drew the inference of trafficking from the admitted facts (substantial quantity in separate bags, leaving home with the drugs, implausible explanation) and that the judge's reference to an unproven lie was not essential to, and did not materially affect, the conviction; therefore the appeal against conviction was dismissed.
