The Bangalore Development Authority Act, 1976 is a self-contained code. Provisions in the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, as amended by Central Act 68 of 1984, limited to acquisition of land, payment of compensation, and statutory legal remedies, apply to acquisitions under the BDA Act. However, the provisions of Section 11-A of the Land Acquisition Act, regarding lapsing of acquisition proceedings if the award is not made within the specified time, do not apply to the BDA Act.
