THE QUEEN v. CHAN HOI CHEUNG (D1) AND OTHERS

    Citation
THE QUEEN v. CHAN HOI CHEUNG (D1) AND OTHERS
    Court
    Court of Appeal
    Case number
    CACC312/1985

There was no evidence upon which a reasonable jury could find that Alfred Lo was an accomplice, so no accomplice direction was required; the trial judge's directions, including cautions and explanation of dishonesty and standard of proof, were adequate and in places favourable to defendants; the 4th appellant's written statement could be read as a confession and the jury were properly left to decide whether it disclosed dishonesty; accordingly the appeals were without substance and are dismissed.
