The magistrate correctly exercised his discretion in allowing the Crown to reopen to correct technical defects (foreign‑language legends and omission of the word "true") because the errors were slips, the substantive evidence of copyright existed, reopening caused no prejudice to the defence and it was in the interests of justice; convictions and sentences therefore stand.
