The conviction was upheld because the magistrate reasonably drew the inference of vaginal penetration from the complainant's consistent account of pain and her identification of the vagina, the fresh posterior-forchette abrasion found by the examining doctor consistent with insertion, and the strong DNA match of semen on the complainant's underpants to the appellant; the fingernail blood evidence did not negate those inferences and the magistrate's findings were not unsafe.
