The application was allowed because credible evidence showed the total unencumbered value of D1 and D2's assets (about HK$136m) exceeded the enjoined ceiling (HK$79,050,000) by approximately HK$56.95m, thereby triggering §1(2) of the injunction and permitting Ds to deal with assets to meet the specified payment obligations without breaching the injunction; consequently the variation was justified and Angel Bell principles need not be invoked.
