Section 18D(1) does not require that the deception be practised on the bank whose record is procured; the offence is established where the defendant, dishonestly and with intent to procure or with a view to gain (or to cause loss), by deception procures the making of an entry in a bank's record, provided causation and intent to procure are proved.
