The appellate court held that the sentences for the first four counts arose from effectively the same transactions and should run concurrently, and that the fifth and sixth counts should run concurrently with each other but consecutively to the first four; accordingly the aggregate sentence on counts A–F was reduced from 12 months to 8 months. The 8 month sentence for the Societies Ordinance offence was upheld due to prior like convictions, and the 2 year police supervision order was maintained.
