Given appellants' limited roles as transporters/couriers as opposed to the organiser (D4), the appropriate starting points were lower than the judge's 33 years (assessed at 30.5 years for D1 and 31 years for D2) and, because their evidence was pivotal in securing the conviction of the major organiser and exposed them to real risk, they were entitled to substantial discounts for assistance (about 21% for D1 and 22% for D2), resulting in reduction of each sentence to 24 years' imprisonment; leave out of time was granted to D1 on justification of his later cooperation.
