The Court held that 'the subsequent marriage' in s.13(1) of the Wills Ordinance includes a registry marriage contracted pursuant to s.38 of the Marriage Ordinance; therefore the June 1985 registry marriage revoked the July 1967 will. This construction follows the unqualified statutory language, the statutory scheme, subsequent definitional amendments, and policy reasons of uniformity and certainty.
