- Court
- Court of First Instance
- Case number
- HCMA829/2000
The magistrate failed to demonstrate she had warned herself of the special danger inherent in convicting on uncorroborated complainant evidence; her remarks were ambiguous and she mistakenly suggested corroboration was not required or no longer relevant despite the trial predating the Evidence (Amendment) Ordinance 2000. Consequently the verdict was unsafe and the conviction was quashed.
