On the agreed facts the commission and team leader bonus were paid monthly, were payable for each day of the month and were not conditional on attendance; applying a purposive construction of the Deduction Sub‑Sections the phrase "any other reason" includes payments that are, by their nature and agreed method of calculation, payments for statutory leave. Therefore the commission and team leader bonus fall within the Deduction Sub‑Sections and must be deducted when calculating statutory entitlements; consequently there was no shortfall and the plaintiffs' claims fail.
