Section 3 of the POBO penalises a government servant for accepting advantages without general or special permission irrespective of corrupt intention; mooncake coupons and household items were advantages; statutory provisions (not custom) govern available defences; because evidence did not establish the precise dates for Charges 7 and 8 they may have fallen outside the two-year prosecutorial period and those convictions could not be sustained, while the remaining convictions were supported by evidence and the Appellant's admissions and are therefore affirmed.
