Contractual accrued interest agreed between the parties is part of the pleaded claim for the purpose of section 32 DCO; therefore the Master erred in excluding contractual interest under s49(7) when determining jurisdiction. The total claim as pleaded (principal plus agreed accrued interest as at 4 July 2022) exceeded HK$3,000,000, so the CFI retains jurisdiction and the transfer order is set aside.
