The court allowed the appeals in part: Yip's total sentence was reduced from 14 to 11 years because he had in fact given evidence leading to convictions and thus deserved credit; Lam's sentence was reduced from 14 to 9 years because the sentencing judge impermissibly treated the robbery as involving a firearm despite the jury's acquittal on that count and sentencing must be based on the evidence most favourable to the accused. The appeals were otherwise disposed as specified.
