Respondent must pay the applicant's costs for the struck‑out appeal notice but the court, applying summary assessment principles and Practice Direction 14.3 para 13 and considering that a limitation order made instruction of a barrister unnecessary, reduced the award from the claimed HK$25,394 to HK$17,000 and disallowed the claimed barrister fee and costs for preparing the costs statement.
