The court accepted the joint expert evidence and treating records showing relatively minor injuries with recovery sufficient for the plaintiff to return to heavy work in mid‑2016 and found the plaintiff had exaggerated symptoms; the proper approach was to assess PSLA based on injuries and treatment up to the point of apparent fitness for work rather than the plaintiff's later inconsistent complaints; accordingly PSLA was assessed at HK$220,000 and damages totaled HK$255,262.50 after deductions, with specified interest and costs orders.
