An unregistered statutory charge under section 18(1) of the Estate Duty Ordinance cannot affect a bona fide purchaser for value because the charge must be registered under the Land Registration Ordinance to be enforceable against subsequent purchasers; accordingly the defendant answered the requisition and the plaintiff's application is dismissed.
