Section 6 of the New Territories Leases (Extension) Ordinance extends the term of the existing leases to 30 June 2047 and does not create new leasehold estates; consequently the lessees' existing estates remained the same and, where extinguished as against squatters by the Limitation Ordinance, those possessory titles prevail.
