The magistrate's credibility findings were unimpeached and the conviction of the 1st appellant was safe; the 2nd appellant's extension of time for notice of appeal against conviction was refused for lack of reasonable grounds; however, in exercise of sentencing discretion the court allowed the 2nd appellant's appeal against sentence in part by granting credit of 148 days for prior judicial detention (not administrative detention) and reducing the sentence accordingly.
