None of the three questions raised by the applicants constituted points of law of great and general importance: the jury's consolidated question and the foreman's 'Guilty' were, on the facts, an unambiguous guilty verdict; the judge's directions on withdrawal in spontaneous joint enterprise were correct and covered unobserved withdrawal; and no Kevin Brown direction was required because the disputed acts were means of proving an ingredient, not alternative ingredients.
