No interest on instalments in arrear was allowed because the charges contained no express entitlement to charge such interest; where the facility letter expressly provided for higher interest on sums due but unpaid (HSBC cases) the Plaintiffs were entitled to charge that higher rate on the outstanding Sum from the day after filing of the writ; where no such provision existed (Hang Seng case) the higher default interest was disallowed.
