The court dismissed the application because the death of the applicant's daughter and the applicant's depressive episode did not constitute exceptional humanitarian circumstances warranting reduction: the offences were committed while the daughter was already ill, the sentences were not excessive and are being effectively managed in custody, and no error in principle was shown by the sentencing judge.
