The Court of Appeal upheld the trial judge's finding that the deceased's legitimate net income was HK$26,400 per month based on documentary trip records and realistic trip estimates, rejected reliance on the Inland Revenue asset betterment statement as speculative and unreliable for assessing civil damages, excluded unproven money‑changing and toy factory income, and therefore dismissed the appeal.
