The appellant had clear opportunity to see the officer and the flashing blue beacon and nevertheless swerved from the slip road onto the hatched area and rammed the officer and motorcycle; the magistrate’s credibility findings and the evidence showed the appellant’s driving fell far below the standard of a competent and careful driver and therefore amounted to dangerous driving, so the conviction was properly upheld.
