Section 33(1)'s plain and unambiguous wording covers possession of an offensive weapon in a public place by an individual; the long title does not restrict the section to cases of public disorder or association with others; conviction under s.33(1) was correct but the original nine month sentence was excessive and was reduced to a term enabling discharge at the rising of the court (equivalent to about six months).
