The words 'control, direction or influence' in section 130 of the Crimes Ordinance bear their ordinary meaning and do not require proof of duress; the girls, who willingly engaged in prostitution, were not necessarily accomplices and the trial judge was entitled to find independent corroboration of their evidence; the original sentences were excessive and should be reduced to reflect precedents and individual circumstances.
