Allegations that a third party financed the Californian litigation did not establish maintenance or collateral fraud sufficient to bar enforcement in Hong Kong; the Californian verdict was validly curtailed by JNOV procedures and recorded as final judgment, and such a final foreign judgment is enforceable in Hong Kong notwithstanding a pending appeal. The defendant's appeal against the Master's enforcement decision is therefore dismissed.
