Because the combination of the judge's emphatic majority‑verdict directions, the imposition of a time limit tied to overnight accommodation, the lengthy eight‑hour deliberation and the quick majority verdict thereafter created a real possibility that one or more jurors felt compelled to agree, the conviction was unsafe and had to be quashed.
