The court held that the totality of circumstantial evidence — the presence of three keys and a silencer in the appellant's suitcase, ballistic linkage between parts found in suitcases and the silencer, appellant's association with the persons who brought the suitcases, and lack of effective rebuttal — was sufficient for a reasonable jury to conclude beyond reasonable doubt that the appellant was knowingly in control of the suitcases and knew of their illicit contents; section 2(2) does not shift the burden of proof.
