The court found the applicant's evidence credible and the respondent's evidence inconsistent and suspicious; accepted that the accident occurred in Hong Kong while the applicant was performing his duties aboard the respondent's vessel and therefore the respondent is liable under the Employees Compensation Ordinance. The statutory entitlements under S.9, S.10 and S.10A were applied to compute compensation and deductions and interest ordered.
