Although the summonses were poorly drafted, they clearly alleged the company's offences on specified dates and that the appellant's neglect made him personally liable; the magistrate's factual findings were supported by overwhelming evidence (meetings, admissions, warnings and repeated non‑compliance) and therefore the convictions and fines were upheld.
