Lump sum matrimonial orders are, in substance, orders for payment of money that qualify as judgment debts within Section 50 District Court Ordinance Cap.336; therefore unpaid instalments of such orders attract statutory interest from the date they become due. The distinct enforcement procedures applicable to matrimonial orders do not exclude the importation of statutory interest into the orders themselves.
