D's appeal is dismissed. The judge found on a broad‑brush assessment that the plaintiff has a high degree of probability of success on the preliminary paternity issue (Part I) based on the existing Paternity Report and the Zhuhai Intermediate People's Court judgment which accepted that report; accordingly security for costs is refused for Part I and cannot be ordered for Part II until the outcome of Part I is known. The defendant may reapply for security if there is a material change of circumstances after Part I. Costs of the appeal are to be paid by the plaintiff on the terms ordered below.
