The magistrate was entitled to reject the appellant's inconsistent accounts, accept the police evidence and find that no third vehicle was involved and that the appellant knowingly misled a police officer; those findings were rationally based on the accepted evidence and supported the conviction under s64(b) of the Police Force Ordinance.
