Given the seriousness of credit card offences, the appellant's facilitating role, the incentive of $500 per set and the alleged scale (40 requests), a starting point of 18 months reduced to 12 months for a guilty plea was within proper sentencing range; the sentence of 12 months is not manifestly excessive and the appeal is dismissed.

The magistrate erred in finding that the appellant had brought suspicion upon herself; her limited non‑cooperation and lending her name to rent premises did not amount to bringing suspicion sufficient to deny costs, therefore the appeal succeeds and costs must be awarded.
