Section 5(3) of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance confers exclusive power on the Chief Judge to order restoration; applications for restoration are judicial proceedings to be made by originating summons in expedited form with service on the Law Society and the Secretary for Justice, and the court may impose conditions such as requiring public notice of the restoration.
