Given the applicant's extensive and serious criminal record the Court correctly adopted the Chan Sai Chiu starting point, increased it to reflect the applicant's record and risk to the public, applied an appropriate guilty plea reduction, and properly applied the totality principle; the resultant total sentence of 5 years 6 months was not manifestly excessive and leave to appeal was dismissed.
