The magistrate correctly found the notebook entry and subsequent video interview admissions voluntary, properly considered breaches of the Rules and Directions and reasonably exercised his limited residual discretion not to exclude the statements; adoption of the notebook in later formal interview and the presence of caution and opportunity to consult counsel meant admissions were admissible and the magistrate's credibility findings were not to be disturbed on appeal.
