By a majority the policy was construed as a whole: although the operative clause used wide language ('any employee'), when read with the Schedule, definitions (business as 'Office (Interior Design)'), special conditions requiring records and change-of-risk notifications, and statutory background, the EC Section was in relation only to the classes and numbers of employees identified in the Schedule; the plaintiff, a casual site carpenter not falling within those listed classes, was not covered and AXA was not liable under s.43(1) ECO; the Board's appeal was therefore dismissed.
